First post at Georgia Getaways

Woo Hoo! It’s official! I just sent in my first blog article for Georgia Getaways. It’s a feature on some historic activities in Savannah over the Labor Day weekend.

Here’s an excerpt:

This Labor Day Weekend, pack up the family, head to the coast, and journey back in time with special events at Fort McAllister and Wormsloe Historic Site. Both sites are replete with Georgia history – the former of military prowess and the latter of family heritage – equally intertwined with colonial Savannah and her environs.

According to the Georgia State Parks and Historic Siteswebsite, Fort McAllister “is the home of the best preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy.”

Maybe I’ll actually be down there in time to enjoy those events for myself. BTW, for all my homeschool friends out there they have links to Teacher’s Curriculum points for both of those historic sites. That way, when you come to visit, you can make a stop there and call it a Homeschool day!

    what about great place to eat if any have any history point or been in some one family a long time it would make it easy to fine out out of the way place that are great food my idea
